New Growth

During the summer of 2009 the Heckman Pass wildfire swept across several 1000 ha of pine and spruce forest at the top of The Hill on Highway 20.  It was a hot fire and still looks pretty bleak when you drive through.  Last summer there wasn't a lot of new greenery showing, but this summer there are a lot more signs of the recolonization of the burn.  Grizzly
