While it is an important day for Canada, July 1st seems to me to be an important milestone in our seasonal weather pattern from my years of coastal observations. It's the point where we need to see a significant high pressure system develop in order to produce some summer weather and if we don't see it soon, then the next big wave of good weather is often the last week of July and the first 10 days of August, then we start looking at the back side of summer very quickly. Let's hope the better weather forecast next week brings a good change. Happy 144th!
