Every time I see moose in the winter time in the Chilcotin, I can't help thinking what a tough life it must be to spend between November and April virtually dependent on the browsing of willows when you are an animal the size of a moose. Thankfully there are cellulose digesting bacteria that make it all work for this big fellow, because at -30 C like it was the morning I took this picture, you need all the help you can get to survive.
