The photo today shows a short section of repaired dike done in September after the Great Flood of 2010. In this location the Bella Coola River reached the top the of dike and scoured it until a short section washed out. The rock for the dike comes from the nearby Klonnik Creek rock pit. It's very hard granite and the way it breaks when they blast and quarry it makes ideal rock for dike structures.
