Fried Green Tomatoes

With the hot weather this weekend and today (31 C), it's the kind of weather that really makes tomatoes happy.  About this time of year I get a craving for fried green tomatoes, a real delicacy.  I think I'll cook some this week to make sure we have a nice tasty treat.  I'm pretty sure my daughter will be working late that night or going out for dinner though, I don't think fried green tomatoes are her kind of food.  Grizzly

    Your tomato looks wonderful! When will they ripen? In eastern Washington our tomatoes are behind yours. What variety are they?
    Thanks for this great blog. Your pictures are beautiful! I love the Bella Coola area and will be visiting again in late August - early September. We hope to see bears.

    Thanks. These tomatoes are "Early Girl". Not all years are as good as this one for growing tomatoes. Late August is a good time to see bears. Grizzly
