A nice little shower went through the western half of the Bella Coola Valley last night. The fresh snow line was down to about 2000' on the mountains this morning where everything looked fresh and wintry, although it stayed grey and cloudy till the afternoon before there were some sunny periods. Signs of winter fading are starting to add up in the valley, with buds swelling a bit, the odd early green shoot and bulbs near buildings popping up. The trend for winter is not good, and with only less than two weeks remaining in February the odds of having to plow my driveway anymore this winter are starting to look pretty poor.
