How's Your Weather?

The weather for Saturday and Sunday in the Bella Coola Valley has been so bad I don't even want to talk about.  If you like wet snow, then rain at 0 C, then more wet snow, then rain...so much snow in Heckman Pass Highway 20, that the Highway is starting to look like someone's driveway.

Rather than our weather, how about the weather pattern for the last month or so where you are at? If you're from Bella Coola, connected to the Bella Coola Valley, have friends or just like reading the Bellacoolablog, then post a short comment about what kind of a winter or summer you are experiencing wherever you are at in the world.  Hopefully it's all better than ours! I will post them all then maybe it will cheer us up. Grizzly

  1. Lower Fraser Valley. Rain, rain, rain. An occasional short break for low clouds. More rain. It's too warm for anything else.

  2. Not far away in Vancouver the temp is between 5 and 8 degrees, creeps up to 9. Rain, but not constant and not hard. I worked out in the yard yesterday burning brush - reasonable mild winter day. Not bad for winter.

  3. Hallo from Switzerland. We have a not a winter in south Switzerland. Today we have 14 degree Celsius, the sky is blue and we don't have snow. Bat this isn't normal and not good for Nature.

  5. Here in Southern California we have not seen a cloud for the past month (really) and it has been in the 20's (70's>80F) with many dangerous winds. The Sierra Nevada around the corner from us has now had the driest month in recorded history---SEND US SOME RAIN!!!!

  7. Hi Grizzly
Here in Victoria we have had a fairly mild winter so far, with rain now and then but nothing really bad yet....so much for the coldest winter in years....I know,...it's not over yet!

  8. Here in Nanaimo, we have actually had a drier December than usual. January has started with a real soaking, 76mm total Jan 1-8, 2012 as compared to 77mm for all of December 2011.

  11. In Shannon, New Brunswick it has been warmer than normal with no snow on the ground right now. The lake in front of our house only froze over last week and during a normal weather year the snowmobiles would be on it by now. We would usually have had at least a few nights dipping down below minus 20 by mid January. Not so this year. It is the Maritimes so I am sure our fair share of winter is yet to come!

2012 is bringing quite a bit more precip than fall and into winter, 2011. Drizzles but highs in the mid 40's (7 C) Sure loved last year's trip driving to Bella Coola.
